The upcoming edition of the Future Fabrics Expo, set to take place from June 24–25, 2025, is gearing up to be the most ambitious yet, as the event expands its focus on circular design, regenerative agriculture, material innovation, and decarbonisation. With more than 120 exhibitors and an extensive seminar series, the expo will bring together leading voices in sustainable fashion and textiles under one roof in London.
Organised by The Sustainable Angle, the annual event has grown into a premier sourcing platform for fashion and interior professionals seeking high-impact, low-footprint materials. This year’s event will showcase over 10,000 sustainably produced textiles and materials, ranging from regenerative natural fibres and agricultural by-products to recycled synthetics, certified organic cotton, low-impact animal fibres, and forest-free alternatives.
On opening day, a high-level panel will examine international trade through the lens of a just transition, setting the tone for broader conversations around how fashion can be part of the climate solution. Another panel will focus on how designers are embedding circularity into the core of their design practices, featuring industry changemakers such as Yesmin Jones Henry of The Lab E20.
One of the headline sessions, titled “On the road to COP30: how can the fashion industry be a climate solution?”, will gather experts including Muchanneta Kapfunde (Innovate Shape), Melina Nehra (Globe Legislators), Abbie Morris (Compare Ethics), Amy Powney (AKYN), and Stephanie Downs (Uncaged Innovations). Their dialogue will address accountability, innovation scaling, and the policy frameworks needed to push the industry toward decarbonisation.
Day two will shift the conversation to the science behind materials, with deep dives into bio-based feedstocks and petrochemical alternatives. Speakers include Amy Congdon (Biofabricate), Mohammadreza Naeimirad (Senbis), Natalie Ashdown (Evoco), and Daniel Kaute (Evoralis). A concurrent session will tackle the opportunities of regenerative agriculture, led by Helen Crowley of Nature Matters and Guiliani Ipert of Louis Vuitton.
This year’s edition introduces new participants, including RE-SOLVE Lab, which will present circular solutions across fashion and interiors, the LVMH Business Partners Showcase highlighting sustainability within luxury, and the Berlin Innovators Hub spotlighting startups from Germany’s capital. Another feature, the Innovation Hive, will connect early-stage climate-focused ventures with investors and brands.
A dedicated Footwear Hub will highlight next-generation materials addressing the footwear industry’s long-standing challenges with recyclability and mixed-material waste. Meanwhile, Canopy’s “Scaling Next Gen Solutions” initiative will promote forest-free fibres as viable alternatives to viscose and rayon made from ancient and endangered forests.
Launched in 2011, the Future Fabrics Expo continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in material innovation, with the 2025 edition reinforcing its commitment to both planetary preservation and industry transformation.
