CHT Group is set to showcase a new generation of sustainable and high-performance textile chemical solutions at Techtextil 2026, underscoring the industry’s accelerating shift toward circular production and regulatory compliance.
The Germany-based specialty chemicals maker said it will present a broad portfolio of solutions covering the entire textile value chain, from pretreatment and dyeing to finishing and coating, with a strong focus on technical textiles used in industrial, medical and construction applications.
The move comes as global textile manufacturers face mounting pressure to eliminate hazardous substances and adopt recyclable materials, driven by tightening environmental standards and brand-led sustainability commitments.
At the centre of CHT’s showcase is its push toward circularity, including coating technologies designed for mono-material polyester systems that improve recyclability. Such innovations aim to address one of the industry’s biggest structural challenges — the difficulty of recycling blended textiles at scale.
The company is also expanding its range of PFC-free water-repellent solutions, targeting the phase-out of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), often referred to as “forever chemicals,” which are increasingly restricted across major markets. These alternatives are expected to gain traction in outdoor, protective and performance textiles where durability has traditionally relied on fluorinated chemistries.

CHT said many of its products already comply with leading sustainability frameworks, including those set by ZDHC Foundation and Global Organic Textile Standard, reflecting growing demand from global apparel and industrial clients for transparent and certified inputs.
Industry analysts note that chemical suppliers are rapidly repositioning themselves as solution providers rather than raw material vendors, offering integrated support from product development to industrial-scale implementation.
The company’s focus on segments such as mobiltech, medtech and buildtech highlights a broader shift within the textile sector toward technical applications, which typically offer higher margins and more stable demand than fashion-driven markets.
“Technical textiles are becoming a strategic growth engine for the entire industry,” said a Frankfurt-based industry consultant, noting that sectors such as automotive, healthcare and infrastructure are increasingly reliant on advanced textile materials.
Founded in Germany and operating 26 production sites globally, CHT reported revenue of 572 million euros in 2025, positioning itself among mid-sized but influential players in the specialty chemicals segment. The company competes with larger rivals such as Archroma and DyStar in supplying sustainable chemistry solutions to textile manufacturers worldwide.
Techtextil, one of the industry’s leading trade fairs for technical textiles, is expected to draw global stakeholders seeking innovations that balance performance, cost and environmental impact.
As regulatory scrutiny intensifies and brands push for cleaner supply chains, companies like CHT are betting that advanced, compliant chemical solutions will play a central role in shaping the future of textiles.
