The Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) has recently formalised a strategic partnership with global industry leaders, marking a significant step towards establishing Dhaka as a premier hub for textile and garment technology.
The partnership is centred on organising the Dhaka International Textile and Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG), an annual event expected to attract top industry players and international exhibitors.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed in Dhaka on April 11, includes key partners such as the Shanghai Textile Association, Link Well Exhibition Co. Ltd., and ECO Expo Bangladesh.
Representatives from these global entities gathered with BTMA officials to sign the agreement, which outlines a collaborative approach to planning, promoting, and managing the DTG exhibition, which will be hosted every year in Dhaka.
Abdullah Al Mamun, the convener of BTMA’s DTG Committee, and representatives from each partner organisation emphasised their shared commitment to showcasing the latest advancements in textile machinery, technology, and solutions.
This agreement is expected to strengthen Bangladesh’s textile sector by providing local manufacturers with access to cutting-edge technologies and fostering closer connections with global technology providers.
Scheduled for December 16‑19, 2026, the first DTG exhibition under this new agreement will be held at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka. The event will provide a platform for international companies to display the latest machinery, innovations, and solutions in the textile and garment industry. Experts predict that the exhibition will play a crucial role in modernising Bangladesh’s textile manufacturing sector, enhancing its global competitiveness.
