Bunon on Friday hosted a Facebook Live session titled “Technology through HR Eyes,” focusing on how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping human resource management in the textile and garments industry.
The event featured Aleya Akter, Director of Ethical Sourcing & CSR at SusNex Ltd. and former CHRO of Desh Group of Companies, and Mst. Ummay Afia Akter, Manager of Human Resources, Ha-Meem Group. The session was moderated by Md. Sala Uddin, Advisor for Textile & Garments Merchandising Blog and Head of Operation at Bunon. Student leaders Sarmin Sultana Lima and Md. Mohammad Amir Khasru also took part.
Speakers emphasized the growing role of AI tools in enhancing HR functions — from data analysis and employee performance tracking to workforce forecasting. Aleya Akter noted that HR operations are evolving beyond recruitment and training, now enabling data-driven decision-making through technology.

Mst. Ummay Afia Akter encouraged students to develop both technical and digital skills, highlighting tools such as ChatGPT, LinkedIn Learning, and HR analytics software as valuable assets for career advancement.
Moderator Md. Sala Uddin urged participants to strengthen their fundamentals while embracing new technologies. “AI will not take away your job — it will only replace those who stop learning,” he said.
The interactive session underscored that the future of the textile industry depends on a strong synergy between human resource development and technological adaptability, inspiring young professionals to align with the AI-driven transformation of the sector.
