AmCham Singapore hosts Bangladeshi delegation to boost bilateral business ties

The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham Singapore) hosted a high-level delegation from AmCham Bangladesh on Sunday, as the two bodies sought to deepen cooperation and share best practices for advancing trade and investment.

The meeting, held at AmCham Singapore’s headquarters, was led by AmCham Bangladesh President Syed Ershad Ahmed. Discussions centered on enhancing member support, promoting regulatory dialogue, and exploring replicable strategies to facilitate business in both markets.

AmCham Bangladesh offered policy advocacy and strategic support to AmCham Singapore member firms operating in Bangladesh, particularly those facing regulatory or operational challenges.

From AmCham Singapore, attendees included Dr. Hsien-Hsien Lei, Chief Executive Officer; Bianca Wong, Vice President of Operations for Southeast Asia at FedEx; James Collison, Technology and IP Attorney at Mastercard; and other board members and officials.

The Bangladeshi delegation included Mohammad Rashel Al Mamun, Treasurer; Executive Committee members Abu M Rashed Mujib Noman, Rubaba Dowla, and Mirza Shajib Raihan; Muhammad Monir Hossain, Founder and CEO of Bdcalling IT Ltd.; Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh, Executive Director; and Md. Sanowar Hossain, Deputy Secretary of AmCham Bangladesh.

The two chambers agreed to explore future collaboration in knowledge exchange, member engagement, and market access, particularly in sectors including digital services, logistics, and sustainable manufacturing.

The meeting comes as Bangladesh seeks to diversify foreign investment flows amid a shifting global supply chain landscape, while Singapore continues to position itself as a regional hub for multinational operations.
