Apna Organics Pvt. Ltd. strengthened its position as a leading sustainable-chemistry innovator at the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme South Asia Conference 2025, where the company served as the Platinum Sponsor. The event, held in Bengaluru, brought together global brands, manufacturers and chemical leaders to accelerate the transition toward responsible chemical management in the textile industry.

The company’s Technical Head, Dr. Yoram Benjamin, delivered a detailed technical presentation titled “ZDHC and Its Impact on Sustainable Chemistry,” where he outlined how Apna Organics is enabling safer and more cost-efficient wet processing.
His presentation emphasised a model of “Sustainability with Efficiency,” highlighting four pillars: industry-suited solutions, eco-friendly processes, regulatory compliance and cost-effective chemistry.
Presentation visuals showed comparative frameworks across textile wet-processing stages — from desizing and scouring to bleaching, dyeing and printing. He explained the shift from traditional practices relying on chlorinated agents, APEO surfactants, hypochlorite bleaching and formaldehyde-based binders toward GMO-free enzymatic desizing, APEO-free biodegradable surfactants, peroxide-based bleaching systems, non-formaldehyde dyes and urea-free printing technologies.
According to Dr. Benjamin, these changes reduce carcinogenic pollutants, persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and high-impact chemical residues, aligning factories with ZDHC’s MRSL and global compliance standards.

The presentation also highlighted the company’s commitment to low-dosage formulations, reduced salt requirements, environmentally responsible clearing agents and hybrid thickener systems that eliminate kerosene-based materials — positioning Apna Organics as a key enabler of safer processing across the value chain.
During the event, both Dr. Benjamin and Director Shivam Saraf received commemorative mementos from ZDHC leadership, acknowledging the company’s long-standing partnership and active contribution to chemical sustainability efforts across South Asia.
Industry participants at the conference said Apna Organics’ work is increasingly influential as brands intensify pressure on suppliers to adopt ZDHC-aligned sustainable chemistry. The company’s focus on compliant, economical and environmentally conscious operations is viewed as a model for manufacturers seeking to modernise chemical inputs while maintaining cost competitiveness.
The ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme continues to expand its footprint in Asia, and Apna Organics’ leadership role at the 2025 conference reinforces its position as a critical driver of sustainable transformation in the textile chemical sector.
