The Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Eurofins Consumer Product Testing Bangladesh Ltd to provide faster and more affordable product testing services for buying house members, as the sector seeks to strengthen compliance and quality assurance amid rising global scrutiny.
The agreement was signed on Saturday at the UCB Lounge of Uttara Club in Dhaka by BGBA President Mohammad Pabel and Dr. Karthik N.D., Regional Managing Director of Eurofins Consumer Product Testing Bangladesh Ltd, in the presence of BGBA executive committee members, general members and industry guests.

Under the MoU, Eurofins will offer BGBA members access to fast, reliable and accurate testing services at preferential rates, covering key product safety, quality and compliance requirements demanded by international apparel brands and retailers. BGBA said the partnership is expected to help buying houses reduce lead times, control costs and improve confidence among overseas buyers.
Bangladesh’s buying houses play a critical role in the country’s $45 billion ready-made garment export industry by coordinating sourcing, quality control and compliance between factories and global brands. Industry stakeholders say pressure has increased in recent years for more rigorous testing and documentation, particularly in the European and North American markets.

Eurofins, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification services, has expanded its footprint in Bangladesh to support the textile and apparel supply chain with laboratory testing, regulatory compliance and sustainability-related services. The company said the collaboration aligns with its strategy to support Bangladesh’s garment ecosystem as it moves up the value chain.
BGBA officials said the agreement would enhance member competitiveness and reinforce Bangladesh’s reputation as a reliable sourcing destination by ensuring internationally accepted testing standards at accessible costs.
