The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has called for strong business-friendly policies and strategic government support following the outcome of the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
In a congratulatory message, BGMEA extended its appreciation for the people’s mandate and expressed optimism about the country’s economic future. The association noted that under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) secured more than a two-thirds majority in parliament, describing it as a significant political milestone.
BGMEA emphasized that the ready-made garment (RMG) sector, the country’s leading export-earning industry, is currently at a critical juncture. With Bangladesh approaching post-LDC graduation challenges, ensuring an uninterrupted energy supply, strengthening infrastructure, and maintaining competitive trade advantages in the global market will be crucial.
