The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturer and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has announced a general holiday for all garment factories under its jurisdiction on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, marking the Death of the former chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the dawn of 30th December, 2025.
According to an official notice issued by BGMEA today, all export-oriented garment factories which are members of it, will remain closed on the day.

However, factories involved in urgent shipment-related activities may continue operations with the approval of the concerned authorities, subject to compliance with existing labor laws. Normal operations will resume from the following working day.
