Call for Papers Issued for 7th Textile Research Conference 2026 in Bangladesh

Organisers of the 7th Textile Research Conference (TRC) 2026 have officially announced a call for papers for the international event scheduled to take place on 31 October 2026 in Bangladesh, inviting researchers and industry experts to submit abstracts.

The conference will be jointly organised by the Centre for Research & Innovation in Science, Arts and Technology (CRISAT) and BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT). The annual gathering aims to promote innovation, sustainability, and research-driven advancement across the global textile, apparel and fashion industries, while strengthening collaboration between academia, industry and policymakers.

Academics, researchers, industry practitioners, policymakers and students are encouraged to submit 200-word abstracts addressing contemporary challenges and emerging innovations across the textile and apparel value chain. The deadline for abstract submission is 15 May 2026.

According to the organisers, TRC 2026 will cover a broad spectrum of themes including fibre, yarn, fabric and apparel innovation; colouration science, finishing and industrial washing; textile chemistry, polymers and advanced processing technologies; sustainable production, circularity and environmental compliance; corporate social responsibility and ethical supply chains; Industry 4.0 and 5.0 applications such as automation and digital design systems; fashion business, economics and management; ergonomics and occupational safety; technical textiles and composite materials; smart textiles and wearable technologies; and apparel testing and quality assurance systems.

Submissions will be accepted under three categories: Research in Progress (minimum 25% completed) for a 10-minute presentation, Completed Research (over 75% completed) for a 15–20-minute presentation, and Review Papers presenting state-of-the-art thematic analyses.

Organisers said the conference is expected to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, industry-academia dialogue and evidence-based policy discussion in a sector that remains central to Bangladesh’s economy and global apparel sourcing. TRC 2026 is also positioned to reinforce Bangladesh’s growing role in research-led development within the international textile and fashion landscape.

Registration fees for one-day participation have been set at BDT 3,000 for academics and industry professionals, BDT 2,000 for PhD students, and BDT 1,500 for undergraduate and master’s students.
