U.S.-based textile recycling innovator Circ has signed a strategic partnership with China’s Xinxiang Bailu Chemical Fiber Co. Ltd. to scale production of recycled-content viscose filament yarns in the country, signaling a significant step forward in circular textile solutions for the global fashion industry.

The agreement makes Xinxiang Bailu, one of China’s largest viscose filament producers, Circ’s key commercial partner for industrial-scale production. Under the deal, Circ’s recycled pulp, derived from textile-to-textile recycling processes, will be converted into high-quality viscose filament yarns. The partnership aims to bring sustainable fibers closer to the heart of China’s textile manufacturing hubs, which produce a substantial share of the world’s apparel.

Circ’s proprietary technology enables the extraction and purification of cellulose and polyester from blended fabrics, allowing these materials to be reused as raw feedstock for new fiber production. By collaborating with a major fiber producer like Xinxiang Bailu, Circ hopes to make recycled-content viscose more readily available to mills and apparel brands, reducing the reliance on virgin materials and contributing to a lower-carbon, more resource-efficient supply chain.

The move comes amid growing global demand for sustainable textiles as fashion brands face increasing pressure to meet environmental, social, and governance (ESG) targets. Experts say scaling circular fibers in China, the world’s largest textile manufacturing market, is critical to accelerating adoption and mainstreaming sustainable production practices.

“This partnership is an important milestone for the circular textile sector. By integrating recycled fibers into industrial-scale production, we are helping brands and manufacturers reduce their environmental footprint without compromising quality,” a Circ spokesperson said.

Industry analysts noted that similar collaborations between technology innovators and large manufacturers are likely to increase as the textile industry seeks scalable, economically viable recycling solutions. The partnership not only provides a commercial pathway for recycled viscose filament but also sets a precedent for circularity initiatives in other major textile markets.

Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. The production is expected to start in the coming months, with global fashion brands already showing interest in sourcing the recycled fibers for both domestic and international markets.
