Denim Solutions Ltd., a Bangladesh-based chemical manufacturer focused on denim washing solutions, has introduced Vesto Care PPS Powder, a premium alternative to potassium permanganate, as the global denim industry accelerates its move toward safer and more sustainable finishing technologies.
Potassium permanganate has long been used in denim laundries to achieve faded and high-contrast effects, but its application through spraying has raised persistent concerns over worker health and environmental impact. Exposure to PP mist can cause respiratory problems and skin damage, while wastewater containing manganese compounds poses challenges for effluent treatment and environmental compliance.
Vesto Care PPS Powder has been developed to replace conventional PP in denim bleaching processes, offering a safer operating environment without compromising visual results. The company said the product eliminates the need for hazardous PP spray operations, significantly improving worker safety, while also reducing the chemical load discharged during garment washing.

According to Denim Solutions, the new formulation delivers bright, clean and high-contrast effects comparable to traditional potassium permanganate treatments, positioning it as a premium solution for high-performance denim laundries serving export-oriented garment manufacturers.
The launch comes as apparel brands and suppliers face mounting pressure from international buyers, regulators and sustainability initiatives to reduce the use of hazardous chemicals in textile production. In response, denim laundries across major manufacturing hubs have increasingly adopted PP substitutes and so-called zero-PP technologies to meet stricter environmental and social compliance standards.
Industry observers say innovations such as Vesto Care PPS reflect a broader shift in textile chemical development, as suppliers seek to balance fashion-driven finishing effects with growing demands for cleaner production and worker protection.
Bangladesh, one of the world’s largest denim manufacturing centers, is emerging as a key market for such technologies, with chemical suppliers and laundries investing in greener processes to maintain competitiveness in the global apparel supply chain.
