Filagen, a next-generation performance fiber developed through collaboration in Bangladesh, drew attention at the Kingpins denim trade show in New York, as global buyers and designers assessed new material solutions for upcoming seasons. The fiber was presented by NZ Tex Group at the invite-only denim platform, highlighting Bangladesh’s growing role in textile innovation beyond large-scale manufacturing.
The development and application of Filagen fiber is the result of joint work between Bangladesh-based RH Corporation and NZ Tex Group, combining fiber technology, product development and industrial-scale textile manufacturing. The collaboration has focused on integrating Filagen into denim and woven applications, delivering enhanced comfort, breathability and long-lasting freshness while meeting the performance expectations of international brands.
Kingpins New York is widely regarded as a leading global forum for premium denim sourcing and material innovation, attracting mills, fiber developers and fashion brands from the United States, Europe and Asia. The presentation of Filagen at the event placed Bangladesh-origin innovation alongside established global suppliers, reflecting a shift in how the country is positioning itself in the higher-value segments of the textile supply chain.

NZ Tex Group, a vertically integrated textile manufacturer, developed and refined Filagen-based fabric applications for global denim markets, aligning functional performance with responsible production practices.
Industry participants said the showcasing of Filagen at Kingpins underscores a broader trend, with buyers increasingly seeking materials that combine sustainability, performance and traceability. For Bangladesh, the collaboration signals a strategic move toward research-driven textiles and global product leadership, as the country looks to strengthen its position in the evolving international apparel and denim market.
