Staff cut measures have been announced by Swoosh Parent, which confirmed plans to trim less than one percent of its corporate workforce under a restructuring program led by Chief Executive Officer Elliott Hill. The move is designed to sharpen focus on core performance categories such as running and sneakers, while strengthening retail partnerships and expanding its brick-and-mortar network. The reductions will not impact its operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, nor its Converse division.
As of May 31, the company employed around 77,800 people globally, including part-time and retail staff. The restructuring is aligned with Hill’s strategy to create cross-functional “sport-obsessed” teams closely attuned to athletes and consumers. This comes after a 2 percent workforce reduction last year to manage costs amid weaker demand. At the same time, the company is lowering reliance on Chinese manufacturing for U.S. distribution to reduce tariff exposure. The exact number of affected corporate positions has not yet been disclosed.
