The Ha-Meem Group, a major player in Bangladesh’s garments and textiles sector with more than 50,000 workers across 26 factories, has long been known for its role in the country’s export-driven economy. But its training centre offering no-cost skill development courses, highlights a growing commitment to inclusive growth as Bangladesh seeks a more equitable labour market.

Industry insiders note that women make up a significant portion of the ready-made garment workforce in Bangladesh, and targeted training can help bridge gaps in skills and opportunity. “We’re doing something quieter, but far more powerful,” Chief Information Officer Kazi Ehtesham Shahid said, describing the centre’s mission to uplift women through practical training and job placement support. Early beneficiaries have reported increased confidence and improved prospects for sustainable livelihoods.
