Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed a $35 million agreement with Turkiye’s Nil Örme San. ve Tic. A.Ş. to build a textile and clothing factory in the Qantara West Industrial Zone. Covering 33,000 m², the factory will create 2,000 direct jobs and export 90 percent of its output.
SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien said the Qantara West zone currently hosts 34 projects worth $859.3 million, generating more than 48,000 direct jobs.
Turkish conglomerate Sahinler Holding Group also confirmed plans to invest over EGP 2 billion (about $41 million) in Egypt’s garment sector. The company will complete its third sportswear factory by late 2026, expanding production lines from 10 to 34. In addition, Sahinler will set up a fourth garment facility under the Zara brand in Robbiki City, east of Cairo.
Founded in 1982, Sahinler Holding Group already runs two sportswear factories in Egypt with $50 million in total investment. Beyond Egypt, the group operates five other facilities across Turkiye, Bulgaria, Germany, and France.
