Mohammad Mofazzal Hosen Pabel Appointed Chief Advisor To BGBA

The Bangladesh Garments Buying House Association (BGBA), a key trade body representing the country’s apparel sourcing and buying house sector, has appointed Mohammad Mofazzal Hosen Pabel as its Chief Advisor, following a decision taken at the organization’s first board meeting, officials said.

BGBA plays a significant role in facilitating coordination between international apparel buyers and local manufacturers, supporting compliance, sourcing efficiency and trade representation for Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) industry.

Mr. Pabel, Managing Director of Dongyi Sourcing Limited, previously served as President of BGBA for the 2024–2026 term. During his tenure, he was involved in several initiatives aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of buying houses and improving their engagement with global brands and policymakers.

The association said his appointment reflects recognition of his long-standing contribution to the development of Bangladesh’s buying house sector and his broader involvement in the country’s export-oriented apparel industry.

BGBA leaders expressed confidence that Mr. Pabel’s experience, industry insight and leadership will help guide the organization in addressing emerging challenges in global sourcing, enhancing compliance standards and reinforcing Bangladesh’s position as a competitive and reliable apparel sourcing hub.

Mr. Pabel will serve as Chief Advisor with immediate effect, the association added.
