National Conference on Future Fabrics to Spotlight Natural and Bio-Based Textile Innovation

The Interdisciplinary National Conference on “Future Fabrics: Advancing Textile Manufacturing with Natural & Bio-Based Resources” will take place on February 13 and 14, 2026, bringing together industry leaders, researchers and policymakers to explore the next phase of sustainable textile development.

Organised by the Society of Dyers and Colourists Education Charity (SDC EC India) in collaboration with Shardabai Pawar Mahila Arts, Commerce and Science College (SPM College), Shardanagar, Baramati, the conference will serve as a key platform for dialogue on eco-friendly manufacturing, natural dyes, and bio-based material innovation.

The two-day event will feature Ms. Roop Rashi Mahapatra, CEO of the Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Government of India, as the Chief Guest, underscoring the growing national focus on sustainable and village-based textile ecosystems.

Experts from academia and industry will participate in panel discussions, including a dedicated session titled “Industry – Natural Solution,” examining practical pathways to integrate herbal technologies and renewable resources into mainstream textile production.

Among the distinguished panellists is Dr. Yawer Ali Shah, Co-Founder and CEO of AMA Herbal Group, who will contribute insights on the commercial viability and scalability of plant-based textile solutions.

The conference aims to bridge research and real-world implementation, accelerating innovation in green manufacturing and reinforcing India’s commitment to environmentally responsible textile practices.
