Spanish fashion retailer Mango said on Monday it has appointed Helena Helmersson, the former CEO of H&M, to its board of directors as part of efforts to strengthen its governance and international strategy.
Helmersson, who served as CEO of Swedish fast fashion giant H&M between 2020 and 2024, brings nearly 26 years of experience in the apparel industry, with a particular focus on sustainability, supply chain management, and international operations.
“Helena’s leadership, international experience and commitment to the sector will be a source of inspiration for all of us,” said Toni Ruiz, CEO of Mango.
Her appointment comes as Mango continues to professionalize its board and expand globally. With this addition, Mango’s board now includes six independent directors out of ten total members.
Helmersson also recently joined the board of Swiss sportswear brand On Running.
Mango, founded in 1984, operates over 2,700 stores in more than 115 markets worldwide.
