Sustainable apparel brand Outerknown has updated its Sea Jeans collection, tightening fits and upgrading materials as it seeks to strengthen its position in the premium denim segment.
The California-based company said the latest iteration reflects years of wear testing and customer feedback since the line’s debut in 2018. Co-founder and creative director John Moore said the refresh focuses on refining core silhouettes while improving fabric performance and durability.
A central change is the renewed use of denim from Italy’s Candiani Denim. The updated fabric weighs 13.75 ounces and is composed of 98% organic cotton and 2% spandex, designed to preserve the look of rigid denim while adding stretch and shape retention.

The revised range includes four primary fits — Traveler Straight and Highline Slim for men, and Scout Straight and Isla Sailor for women — alongside the returning unisex Beachcomber Relaxed style. The collection is offered in five vintage-inspired washes intended to deliver a worn-in feel from first use.
Outerknown said the jeans are made primarily with organic or regenerative cotton and recycled stretch fibers, part of its broader effort to reduce environmental impact linked to conventional denim production. Manufacturing is handled by PT Tainan Enterprises in Indonesia.
Priced at about $168, the updated Sea Jeans line is positioned as a long-lasting wardrobe staple, underscoring the brand’s strategy of emphasizing durability and responsible sourcing over fast-turn fashion cycles.
