The PERFORMANCE DAYS Functional Fabric Fair opened on March 18, 2026 at Messe München, drawing designers, buyers and material specialists from around the globe for a two‑day showcase of the latest in performance and sustainable textiles. The fair, running through March 19, 2026, is viewed as a bellwether for trends in high‑function apparel fabrics and accessories ahead of upcoming seasonal sourcing cycles.
Organisers said more than 500 exhibitors from over 30 countries are presenting innovations in functional fabrics, finished materials and sustainable solutions. The hybrid “Loop” digital sourcing platform complements the on‑site event, allowing buyers and suppliers to connect online as well as in Munich.
Among the companies on display are global material producers and textile technology specialists such as 3M, 37.5 Technology, Noble Biomaterials and SBS International, offering everything from high-performance woven and knitted fabrics to trims and insulation components.

Sustainability was a dominant theme at the opening, with organisers highlighting initiatives that promote recycled content, biodegradability and reduced environmental impact. The fair’s Trend Forum and Sustainability Lounge feature products meeting global standards such as GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and the Global Recycle Standard, while expert talks and workshops tackle circularity and innovation in textile supply chains.
Industry experts have also been scheduled to speak. Representatives from Textile Exchange are due to lead sessions on material traceability and recycling strategies, part of a broader programme aimed at addressing industry pressure to reduce waste and carbon footprints.
Exhibitor spotlight releases ahead of the fair highlighted sustainable technologies such as CHT Group’s water‑saving dyeing processes and functional finishes designed to improve performance while cutting energy and water use.
Trade visitors said the fair’s emphasis on innovation and collaboration makes it a key calendar event for brands seeking materials that balance performance with environmental responsibility. “It’s the place to discover the next generation of fabrics and connect with the minds shaping textile innovation,” one procurement executive said on the show floor.
