Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan Re-appointed as Asia Ambassador for the ACU

Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Acting Vice Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), has once again been appointed as the Ambassador for the Asia Region by the prestigious Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) — marking his fourth term in this distinguished role.

The ACU, headquartered in London, is the oldest international university network in the world, representing over 400 member universities across more than 40 Commonwealth countries and supporting global collaboration in higher education.

In his capacity as ACU Ambassador for Asia, Prof. Dr. Khan is responsible for strengthening academic partnerships across the region, promoting cross-border research and educational initiatives, and serving as a key liaison between the ACU and member institutions. Ambassadors act as vital conduits for opportunities such as international events, collaboration grants, policy roundtables, and academic exchanges within the Commonwealth network.

Prof. Dr. Khan brings decades of leadership experience in education and textile technology to the role, with advanced degrees from the University of Manchester, UK under a Commonwealth scholarship and a long record of academic, industry, and research contributions.

His repeated reappointment reflects sustained confidence from the ACU in his ability to deepen ties between Asian universities and the wider Commonwealth higher-education community — helping to advance academic excellence and international cooperation.
