Solaric Global, a leading renewable energy developer, is advancing construction of one of the world’s largest industrial rooftop solar installations in Bangladesh, reinforcing the nation’s rapid shift toward clean energy in its manufacturing sector.
The Chattogram‑based project, being engineered by Solaric at the Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ), has reached approximately 40 megawatts‑peak (MWp) and is on track to expand further as part of the broader renewable push across Bangladesh’s industrial corridors.
Once fully completed, the rooftop installation is expected to stand among the largest globally, providing significant solar capacity to factories and export‑oriented plants struggling with high energy costs and supply volatility.

Solaric, which began its rooftop solar journey in the mid‑2000s, has cultivated a notable pipeline of projects across sectors including ready‑made garments, textiles, and fast‑moving consumer goods. The company reports existing operational capacity and a broader development portfolio totaling hundreds of megawatts nationwide.
The ramp‑up comes as Bangladesh’s government and private sector intensify efforts to increase solar uptake, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and cutting carbon emissions in line with climate commitments. Industry participants say large‑scale rooftop solar is vital to balancing energy demand and sustainability goals, particularly for export‑oriented industries.
Analysts note that scaling rooftop solar presents both technical and financial hurdles, but innovations in financing models, such as operator‑owned (OpEx) structures, are helping mitigate upfront costs for factory owners and driving faster deployment.
