Textile Innovation Exchange Launched to Drive Innovation-Led Competitiveness

3 Min Read

The Textile Innovation Exchange (TIE) has been established under the leadership of Engr. Ehsanul Karim Kaiser, Chairman of the TIE Steering Board, and Engr. ASM Tareq Amin, Member Secretary, with the objective of embedding innovativeness as an institutional, measurable, and repeatable capability across Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry.

As Bangladesh’s traditional low-cost labour advantage continues to narrow, manufacturers are facing mounting domestic financial pressure, persistent power and energy disruptions, escalating compliance costs, and heightened global uncertainty. This convergence of challenges marks a critical inflection point for the industry—one that leading trade bodies such as BGMEA, BKMEA, and BTMA have consistently underscored as demanding a stronger, more structured innovation mindset to ensure resilience and long-term competitiveness.
