The stage is set for one of the most prestigious academic gatherings in Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector — the 6th Textile Research Conference (TRC 2025), organized by the Centre for Research & Innovation in Science, Arts & Technology (CRISAT). The conference will take place on November 1, 2025, at the Multipurpose Hall, Southeast University, Tejgaon, Dhaka.
Founded by Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem in 2012, the Textile Research Conference has been dedicated to fostering research, innovation, and knowledge exchange within Bangladesh’s textile and apparel community.
With the theme “Bangladesh Textile Sector after 25 Years: The Role of Research & Innovation,” this year’s conference will bring together scholars, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss how research-driven innovation can shape the future of Bangladesh’s textile industry in a rapidly changing global landscape.
The conference will open with a plenary session led by Professor Engr. Mashud Ahmed, Chairman of the Department of Textile Engineering at Southeast University and former Vice Chancellor of BUTEX. He will be joined by Dr. Abu Sadat M. Sayem, Founder of CRISAT, who will deliver the opening address. Distinguished guests include Prof. Dr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT); Engr. Ehsanul Karim Kaiser, Convenor of the Interim Committee of the Institution of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET), Bangladesh; and Professor Dr. Md. Zulhash Uddin, Vice Chancellor of the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), who will serve as Chief Guest. The plenary will be chaired by Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD, Vice Chancellor of Southeast University.
The morning’s Technical Session 1, titled “Textile Innovation, Research and Education,” will highlight recent research contributions from local and international experts coming from Bangladesh Jute Research Institute, Bangladesh University of Textiles, DBL Group and Aplication y Suministros Textiles, Spain. The session will be chaired by Professor A N M Ahmed Ullah from Southeast University.

The 2025 edition continues this legacy — combining scientific discourse with practical insights for the next generation of textile professionals.
