Tunisia Honours Ten Innovators For Their Innovation In The Textile Sector

Tunisia recognised ten companies and young entrepreneurs for advances in digitalisation, sustainability and export performance at the second TEX AWARDS ceremony, held on 28 November in Tunis by the Tunisian Federation of Textiles and Clothing (FTTH).

Altutex Group won the Digital Innovation award for its technology-driven garment production systems, while Green Nonwomen Visline, a startup converting textile waste into sustainable materials, was named Influential Startup. Trading Logistic Service received the Distinguished Exporter award for its growing footprint in textile platforms and packaging.

Sartex – Société des Arts Textiles was recognised in the Sustainable Textile category for its investments in low-impact denim manufacturing. Vizmerald, a developer of connected electronic products and 3D graphic simulations, secured the prize for research, development and innovation. The Ksour Essef Textile Training Center was honoured in the Training category.

Young Leaders awards went to Walid El Ghoul and Abir Obeid, while Salwa Zouari received the Pioneering Women award. Ready-to-wear label Kontact won in the Tunisian Brand category, and Mesjed Aïssa Confection (MACO) was recognised among Influential Personalities.

The ceremony, attended by Industry Minister Fatma Thabet Chiboub, also paid tribute to sector pioneers Abdelaziz Dahmani, Béchir Saïdani, Anis Saïdani and Helmi Kâali.

According to the Ministry of Industry, Tunisia’s textile and clothing sector comprises roughly 1,365 companies employing more than 160,000 people, including 200 fully export-oriented firms. Exports are expected to surpass 9 billion dinars by the end of 2025 as the country accelerates its push toward innovation and value-added manufacturing.
