30th DITF 2026 Opening Rescheduled to January 3

The opening ceremony of the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026 has been rescheduled to Saturday, January 3, following the declaration of three days of state mourning for former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) announced the decision in a press release on Tuesday.2 The fair was originally slated to be inaugurated by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday, January 1.

Key Details of the Rescheduling

  • New Opening Date: Saturday, January 3, 2026.
  • Reason: National mourning period following the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia.
  • Validity of Invitations: EPB officials confirmed that invitation cards already distributed for the January 1 ceremony will remain valid for the rescheduled date.

Event Overview

The month-long fair will take place for the fifth consecutive year at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal.7 This year’s event is set to be a significant platform for both local and international trade, featuring several new initiatives:

Visitor Information and Logistics

To ensure smooth access to the Purbachal venue, the government has arranged dedicated transportation services:

  • BRTC Shuttle Buses: Special services will run from Kuril, Farmgate, Narayanganj, and Narsingdi.
  • E-Ticketing: Visitors can purchase tickets online or via QR code scanning at the venue to avoid long queues.
  • Operating Hours: The fair will be open daily from 9:55 AM to 9:50 PM, with an extension until 10:00 PM on weekends.

The DITF 2026 aims to showcase high-quality Bangladeshi exports and foster connections between local producers—particularly from rural areas—and international buyers.
