Asia Fashion Fair (AFF) Osaka Spring 2026 opened on Tuesday, drawing hundreds of apparel and textile manufacturers from across Asia as they seek to strengthen ties with Japanese buyers and tap into one of the region’s most quality-driven markets.

Held at MyDome Osaka, the three-day sourcing event has become a key platform for original equipment manufacturing (OEM) and original design manufacturing (ODM) partnerships, connecting suppliers from countries including China, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Cambodia with importers, retailers and wholesalers in Japan.

Organized by Asia Fashion Fair (AFF), the Osaka edition is among the largest of its kind in Japan, reflecting steady demand for cost-competitive yet high-quality apparel production across Asia. Exhibitors are showcasing a wide range of products, from garments and functional fabrics to accessories, footwear and home textiles.

The event comes at a time when Japanese buyers are increasingly diversifying sourcing strategies, balancing cost pressures with stricter requirements around quality, compliance and delivery timelines. Suppliers at the fair are highlighting capabilities in sustainable materials such as recycled fibers and organic cotton, alongside performance textiles designed for durability and comfort.

Bangladesh, one of the world’s leading garment exporters, is among the countries actively engaging buyers at the fair, positioning itself as a reliable sourcing hub with competitive pricing and improving compliance standards. Industry participants say Japan remains a relatively underpenetrated but high-potential market for Bangladeshi exporters seeking to reduce dependence on traditional Western destinations.

AFF Osaka also underscores a broader shift in the regional supply chain, where Asian manufacturers are moving beyond volume production to offer value-added services, design support and flexible order management to meet evolving buyer expectations.

With Japanese brands continuing to prioritize long-term partnerships and supply chain resilience, the fair is expected to generate new business opportunities and reinforce Asia’s role as a critical sourcing base for the country’s fashion industry.
