Veolia, the global leader in hazardous waste treatment, has announced a major expansion of its North American operations through $350 million in worldwide investments, including three new acquisitions in the U.S. and a significant upgrade to its Arkansas treatment facility. This move strengthens Veolia’s ability to meet rising demand as U.S. manufacturing and medical industries expand.
In Massachusetts, Veolia acquired New England Disposal Technologies and New England MedWaste, securing the state’s only permitted medical waste disposal facility and expanding its footprint in household hazardous waste and life science sectors. In California, the acquisition of Ingenium enhances Veolia’s capabilities in managing hazardous, biological, and radioactive waste.
The company is also progressing on its expansion of the Gum Springs, Arkansas, high-temperature incinerator, set to become one of the world’s most advanced and sustainable hazardous waste treatment facilities. Designed for energy recovery and EPA-designated recycling classification, the plant supports Veolia’s strategic GreenUp program, focused on decarbonization and resource preservation.
With 49 transport and transfer platforms across 29 U.S. states and robust infrastructure for hazardous and electronic waste recycling, Veolia is reinforcing its position as a key partner in industrial environmental security.
