Pakistani denim weaver Indigo Textile has teamed up with British finishing specialist LaundRe to launch a heritage-inspired denim collection that aims to cut water, chemical and energy use, the company said in a LinkedIn post.
The collaboration, branded INDIGO x Laundre, reimagines Indigo Textile fabric through designs drawing on the visual language of Ajrakh and the organic forms of Britain’s Arts and Crafts movement. Each garment tells a distinct story through its detailing, silhouettes and denim treatments, the company said.
Indigo Textile said the pieces were produced using modern technologies and more considered processes that create distinctive finishes while reducing resource consumption. It did not disclose figures on savings, pricing, production volumes or retail availability.

Karachi-based Indigo Textile describes itself as one of Pakistan’s premium denim weavers and operates a circular manufacturing system. The company says it holds Global Recycled Standard certification, a third-party benchmark covering recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.
LaundRe, based in Canning Town in east London, calls itself the UK’s first tech-enabled denim hub. Its team brings more than 30 years of denim industry experience and uses ozone cleaning, laser technology, sustainable colour tints and low-impact wash processes to finish jeans. Its tagline is “Finished Locally, Scaled Globally.”
The partnership reflects growing demand among brands and retailers for sustainable denim, a category under pressure over the heavy water and chemical footprint of traditional washing and finishing. Linking a South Asian fabric mill with a European finishing hub also shows manufacturers pairing regional strengths in weaving and finishing to meet environmental expectations. Denim remains a significant export category for Pakistan’s textile sector, while circular, low-impact garment processes are drawing growing commercial interest in the UK.
The companies promote the line under the message “Heritage. Craft. Innovation. Reimagined in denim.”
