The “Shin Shin Group Presents National Textile Management Fair 2025,” hosted by BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), concluded with strong participation and extensive industry engagement, marking one of the country’s largest platforms for emerging textile talent.
The day-long event on 16 November, held at BUFT’s Nishatnagar campus in Turag, Dhaka, brought together more than 700 participants from 61 institutions, including 24 universities and 37 colleges. Powered by Auko-Tex Group, co-powered by Citizens Bank, and sponsored by DYSIN and Lejin International Limited, the fair was organized by the BUFT Textile Engineering Management & Innovation Club (BTEMIC) to strengthen linkages between academia and the textile and RMG industry.
Opening remarks were delivered by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences; Registrar Md. Rafiquzzaman; Ms. Sharmin Alam Simi of Standard MH Group; Mohammad Faizur Rahman of AUST; TIM Zahid Hossain of Shin Shin Group; and Sayeed Ahmed Chowdhury of Square Textiles Division. Speakers emphasized innovation-driven education, industry collaboration, and the need to prepare graduates for evolving global supply chain demands.

Textile Talk sessions provided insights on emerging sector trends and future opportunities. Students participated in the Brain Battle Olympiad and Innovation Hub Exhibition, presenting work across smart materials, sustainability-focused research, technical innovation, and textile knowledge. Projects were assessed for creativity, feasibility, impact, communication, and research quality.
The closing and prize-giving ceremony was presided over by BUFT Board of Trustees Chairman and former BGMEA President Faruque Hassan. Guest of Honor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan joined Special Guests Mohammed Nasir, BUFT BoT Member; Mohammad Sohel Sadat, Chairman, Shin Shin Group; Mohammad Hasan Arif, Vice Chairman, Export Promotion Bureau; Shahid Hussain Shamim, Director, SME Foundation; Engr. Abdus Sobhan, Managing Director, Auko-Tex Group; Mehedi Hasan, Managing Director, Nature Craft Bangladesh Ltd.; and Rafi Islam, CEO and Founder of BWM. They commended BUFT’s efforts in fostering innovation and developing next-generation textile leaders.
The fair distributed a total of Tk 90,000 in awards. In the college category, Government Science College, Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasha, and Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College placed as champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up. In the university category, AUST secured the championship title, followed by BUFT and Uttara University.
The programme closed with a vote of thanks from BUFT Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain and a cultural evening showcasing student performances, underscoring BUFT’s role in promoting textile education, research, and youth-driven innovation.
