Kuyichi Pure Denim is bringing back the jeans that started it all. The Dutch sustainable denim brand has relaunched the K25, a numbered replica of the K100, its first-ever pair of jeans from 2001, to mark its 25th anniversary. The limited run is capped at 250 pieces.
The K25 keeps the original 2000s-era fit intact, with a low waist, relaxed straight leg, visible coin pocket and cinchback waist, a design the brand says has endured largely unchanged for a quarter century. Denim for the style was woven in Italy by Candiani, a mill with more than 80 years of denim-making experience.
Where the original K100 fell short on materials, the K25 aims to close the gap. Kuyichi said the K100 was made from conventional cotton in 2001 not by choice but by necessity, as organic denim was not yet commercially viable and few mills were willing to weave it. The brand instead limited organic cotton to T-shirts and sweatshirts in its early years while continuing to press suppliers on denim.
The K25 is made entirely from regenerative cotton certified by Regenagri, grown using practices intended to rebuild soil health rather than simply reduce input use, according to the company. Kuyichi framed the choice as a natural progression from its founding mission and part of a broader shift already underway across its range; roughly 30% of its current collection uses regenerative cotton, brand director Bjorn Baars told FashionUnited in an earlier interview marking the anniversary.

Baars described the K25 as a signal of where the 25-year-old label is headed, pointing to renewed interest in Y2K-era silhouettes as timing for the relaunch.
Kuyichi was founded in 2001 by Solidaridad, Triodos Bank, Stichting Stimulans and a since-dissolved collective of Peruvian cotton farmers, with a mandate to make organic and fair-trade cotton standard practice in the industry. The brand filed for bankruptcy in 2015 following rapid overhead growth and leadership turnover before being relaunched by new ownership, which has since pared back the business toward smaller, certified-organic collections.
Kuyichi announced the K25 on LinkedIn, tying the launch directly to its anniversary messaging and pledging that its sustainability push in cotton sourcing will continue to expand across future collections. Each pair in the 250-piece run will carry an individual number, a detail the brand has used previously to underscore the limited scale of its most experimental releases.
Kuyichi has said it intends to keep pairing regenerative and recycled cotton with organic sourcing as it plans future collections beyond the anniversary run.
