Bangladesh’s textile innovation leader Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Limited has opened the 17th edition of its flagship “Fabric Week”, showcasing a wide-ranging Spring–Summer 2027 collection that places sustainability, material innovation, and design versatility at its core.
The six-day exhibition began on Tuesday at the company’s Design Studio on Gulshan Avenue in Dhaka and will continue until January 18. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the event is welcoming buyers and their representatives from Bangladesh and abroad, reinforcing Fabric Week’s role as a key sourcing and networking platform for the global fashion industry.
This season, Zaber & Zubair is presenting one of its most ambitious collections to date. The Spring–Summer ’27 range features 280 fabric qualities, including 220 newly developed products and 60 textile innovations, highlighting the company’s growing focus on responsible materials and forward-looking design solutions.
The collection reflects a broad and diversified material portfolio designed to respond to changing global demand for environmentally conscious fabrics. Key highlights include fabrics made from 100% recycled materials, as well as recycled polyester and recycled elastane, alongside natural and alternative fibers such as jute, pineapple, banana, and linen. Regenerated and next-generation fibres, including Tencel, viscose, Ecovero, Circulose and Filagen also feature prominently, complemented by innovative solutions such as CiCLO™, Cyclo™ and Reco Vertex, as well as a variety of functional finishes aimed at enhancing performance and durability.

Industry observers say the collection highlights a broader shift within Bangladesh’s textile sector, where manufacturers are increasingly transitioning from volume-driven production to value-added, sustainable, and innovation-led offerings. As global apparel brands tighten environmental and social standards across their supply chains, suppliers capable of delivering traceable, circular, and low-impact materials are gaining strategic importance.
Zaber & Zubair have positioned Fabric Week as more than a product showcase, using the platform to foster dialogue around the future of sustainable apparel. The company says its ongoing research and development efforts are focused on integrating natural, biodegradable, and circular materials with contemporary aesthetics and high-performance characteristics.
“We are thrilled to host our 17th Fabric Week, where innovation meets responsibility,” said Md Shofiqur Rahman, Executive Director (Marketing) of Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Limited. “With 220 new developments and 60 innovations this season, we are not just offering fabrics. We are offering the future of fashion with purpose.”
The event follows the success of the 16th edition of Fabric Week, held for the Autumn–Winter 2026–27 season, which attracted more than 500 industry professionals. Organisers expect this year’s edition to be the largest so far, with around 750 visitors anticipated, including international buyers, global fashion brands, designers and sustainability experts.
Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry, one of the country’s main export earners, has been under increasing pressure to align with global sustainability targets, including reduced carbon emissions, water stewardship and responsible material sourcing. Events such as Fabric Week are playing a growing role in showcasing how local manufacturers are adapting to these demands while maintaining competitiveness in international markets.
Zaber & Zubair’s Spring–Summer ’27 collection arrives at a time when brands are planning future seasons with a focus on material transparency, circularity, and long-term environmental impact. The company aims to support brands seeking to balance design innovation with sustainability commitments by offering a mix of recycled, bio-based, and regenerated fibres alongside performance-driven finishes.
The exhibition is also serving as a meeting point for knowledge exchange. Company officials say discussions during Fabric Week are expected to cover topics ranging from responsible fibre innovation and material lifecycle management to collaboration opportunities across the textile value chain.
With its latest Fabric Week, Zaber & Zubair has invited stakeholders from across the fashion and textile ecosystem to engage with its newest developments and contribute to shaping the next phase of sustainable apparel production. As Bangladesh continues to strengthen its position as a global textile hub, such initiatives signal a growing emphasis on innovation-led growth and responsible manufacturing.
