Mohammad Hatem, president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), received a Lifetime Achievement Award on 15 January evening in recognition of his long-standing contribution to Bangladesh’s ready-made garments (RMG) sector, industry officials said.
The award was presented at the BGAPMEA Members’ Gala Night and Award Giving Ceremony 2026, held on January 15, 2026, at 7:00 pm at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka. The event brought together leading figures from the garment accessories and apparel industry to celebrate excellence and leadership in the sector.

The ceremony was attended by several prominent guests, including former government adviser Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, Bangladesh Employers’ Federation President Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, BCI President Anwar-Ul-Alam Chowdhury, and BGAPMEA President Md. Shahriar.
Industry leaders said the lifetime honour recognises Hatem’s visionary leadership and his role in strengthening sustainability, competitiveness and the global positioning of Bangladesh’s RMG industry, one of the country’s largest export-earning sectors.
