Shin Shin Group has formally released its second Sustainability Report, marking a significant step in its environmental, social and governance (ESG) journey, with the launch officiated by Baroness Winterton and Sarah Cooke.
The report’s unveiling, supported by senior representatives of the United Kingdom, reflects strengthening bilateral engagement on sustainable trade and responsible sourcing, particularly within Bangladesh’s globally integrated ready-made garment (RMG) sector.
The participation of Baroness Winterton and Sarah Cooke signals continued alignment between policy-level advocacy and industry-level transformation toward sustainable manufacturing practices.
Building on its inaugural disclosure, Shin Shin Group’s latest report provides a more comprehensive account of its operational footprint, detailing progress across key sustainability indicators including energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water stewardship, waste management and workforce well-being.
The company has emphasized enhanced data transparency and accountability, in line with evolving compliance expectations from international buyers and regulatory frameworks.
The publication comes at a time when Bangladesh’s apparel sector faces mounting pressure to demonstrate measurable ESG performance amid tightening due diligence requirements in major export destinations such as the United Kingdom and the European Union.
As global brands increasingly prioritize traceability, decarbonization and circularity, sustainability reporting has become a critical instrument for manufacturers seeking to maintain market access and long-term competitiveness.
Shin Shin Group stated that the report aligns with internationally recognized frameworks, including the principles underpinning the Paris Agreement, and reflects a structured approach toward climate resilience and resource efficiency. The company is also advancing internal systems for emissions accounting and target-setting, consistent with broader industry shifts toward science-based pathways.
