Intex Bangladesh 2026, one of South Asia’s premier international textile sourcing exhibitions, opened in Dhaka on Thursday, bringing together global manufacturers, buyers, and industry stakeholders as Bangladesh strengthens its foothold in the global apparel value chain.
Held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), the three-day exhibition has drawn participation from more than 300 exhibitors across over 12 countries and regions, reflecting strong international interest in Bangladesh’s fast-evolving textile and garment sector. Countries represented include India, China, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Thailand, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, and Taiwan, alongside domestic producers.

The event serves as a key platform for textile manufacturers, sourcing professionals, brands, policymakers, and trade bodies to explore new business opportunities, foster partnerships, and address emerging challenges in global supply chains increasingly shaped by sustainability and traceability requirements.
Senior government officials, diplomats, and leading industry figures attended the inauguration ceremony, signaling continued institutional support for the sector. Speakers highlighted Bangladesh’s transition from a cost-competitive manufacturing hub to a more value-driven player focused on innovation, compliance, and sustainable production practices.
The exhibition features a wide array of products, including fibres, yarns, fabrics, man-made fibres, trims, accessories, and advanced solutions such as compliance systems and traceability technologies. A strong emphasis on sustainable textile innovations reflects growing pressure from international brands and regulators for environmentally responsible sourcing.
A major attraction is the “Incredible Textiles of India” Pavilion, which showcases more than 75 Indian companies presenting cotton, man-made fibres, sustainable fabrics, and value-added sourcing solutions. Backed by leading Indian textile export promotion bodies, the pavilion underscores India’s continued importance as a key sourcing partner for Bangladesh’s apparel industry.
The China Fashion Textiles Pavilion is another focal point, featuring over 70 manufacturers from China’s major textile regions. Exhibitors are presenting a range of fashion fabrics, functional materials, technical textiles, and garment accessories, highlighting China’s dominant position in upstream textile supply chains.

In parallel with the exhibition, the Interactive Business Forum (IBF) Seminar Series is hosting high-level discussions on industry-critical themes such as sustainability, traceability, and Bangladesh’s move up the global value chain. Sessions including “Scaling Sustainable Materials Across Global Supply Chains” and “From Factory Floor to Global Fashion Influence” are drawing attention from stakeholders keen to align with shifting global expectations.
Organizers said the event is attracting sourcing professionals and buyer delegations from key markets including Sri Lanka, India, China, Japan, Germany, and the United Kingdom, reinforcing Bangladesh’s position as a central hub for global textile sourcing.
The event is being organised in association with Fashion Business Journal, reflecting growing collaboration between industry platforms and media to enhance knowledge-sharing and sector-wide engagement.
Industry analysts say platforms like Intex Bangladesh are instrumental in helping the country transition beyond volume-driven manufacturing toward higher-value segments, including innovation, branding, and sustainable production.
Bangladesh, currently one of the world’s largest garment exporters, is increasingly investing in compliance, green manufacturing, and digital traceability to maintain its competitive edge in the global market. The strong international participation at this year’s event highlights growing confidence in the country’s ability to adapt to these changing dynamics.
As global apparel supply chains continue to evolve, Intex Bangladesh 2026 is expected to facilitate new partnerships, showcase cutting-edge innovations, and shape the future trajectory of the textile and apparel industry both regionally and globally.
