German textile machinery manufacturer KARL MAYER has introduced the HKS 4-S EL, a new four-bar short-stroke tricot machine that the company says is the world’s fastest in the warp knitting sector, aiming to boost productivity and expand fabric production flexibility.
The machine operates at speeds of up to 2,500 revolutions per minute (rpm) and offers a maximum working width of 280 inches, with an optional extension of 10 inches, providing manufacturers with higher production capacity for both elastic and rigid warp-knitted fabrics.
KARL MAYER said the HKS 4-S EL has been redesigned with significant technological improvements to deliver greater efficiency while accommodating a broader range of textile applications.

The machine features a height-adjustable fabric take-up system and an electronic (EL) pattern drive, enabling faster pattern changes and greater flexibility in producing different fabric structures. It is designed to manufacture high-density, compact performance fabrics as well as open-mesh constructions such as Powernet-style textiles.
According to the company, the machine is suitable for producing fabrics used in sportswear, home textiles and general apparel.
The HKS 4-S EL is available in E28, E32 and E36 gauges with working widths of 130, 180, 210 and 280 inches. All four ground guide bars are stitch-forming and operate with a 2-inch shog, supporting a wide range of warp knitting patterns.
The launch reflects growing demand from textile manufacturers for machines that combine higher production speeds with greater product versatility as the industry seeks to improve efficiency and respond more quickly to changing market requirements.
