Intertextile Shanghai 2026 attracts global textile suppliers

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition 2026 is set to bring together thousands of textile suppliers and international buyers in Shanghai, reinforcing its position as one of the world’s largest sourcing platforms for apparel fabrics and textile innovations.

The event will take place from March 11 to 13 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China, with more than 3,100 exhibitors from around 25 countries and regions expected to participate. Organised by Messe Frankfurt alongside the China Textile Information Centre and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade textile sub-council, the fair is anticipated to attract nearly 95,000 visitors from over 130 countries and regions.

Industry participants from major textile-producing economies such as Italy, India, Japan, South Korea, Türkiye and France will showcase a wide range of fabrics, fibres and textile technologies. Several European luxury mills and Asian manufacturing groups are expected to present their latest collections, reflecting the growing demand for innovative and sustainable materials in the global fashion industry.

Among notable exhibitors are Italian wool producer Vitale Barberis Canonico, Belgian luxury fabric supplier Scabal, and French jacquard specialist Clarenson. Functional textile manufacturer Concordia Textiles and Indian denim producer Vinod Denim are also expected to present new product lines aimed at global fashion brands and apparel manufacturers.

The exhibition will span multiple product segments including cotton, wool, silk and synthetic fabrics, knitted textiles, performance materials, lace, embroidery and apparel accessories. Design studios from Europe and Asia will also present seasonal patterns and prints, offering insights into upcoming fashion trends.

Sustainability and functional innovation will remain central themes at the event, with fibre producer Lenzing among companies highlighting eco-friendly materials such as regenerated cellulose fibres. Industry observers say growing demand for traceable and environmentally responsible fabrics is reshaping sourcing strategies across global apparel supply chains.

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is held alongside several major textile and fashion events during the same week, including Yarn Expo Spring and CHIC, creating one of the largest integrated textile sourcing weeks in Asia.

With international buyers seeking new suppliers and material innovations, the event is expected to serve as a key meeting point for manufacturers, fashion brands and sourcing agents looking to secure fabric supplies and identify emerging trends for upcoming fashion seasons.
