Swiss textile machinery maker Benninger presented two dyeing systems to more than 100 Bangladeshi textile entrepreneurs and senior executives at a Dhaka seminar on Thursday, betting that demand for resource-saving technology will grow in one of the world’s largest garment-producing hubs.
The event, held at Hotel Le Méridien Dhaka with Benninger’s local representative Global Hitech, was themed “The Sustainable Way of Discontinuous Dyeing”. Discussions focused on improving dyeing performance, fabric quality and cutting the water, energy and chemicals used in textile processing.

Benninger described its FabricMaster as a fifth-generation discontinuous dyeing system built for gentle fabric handling. The company said the machine is designed to deliver short processing cycles, high efficiency and consistent results across fabrics including Lycra blends and synthetics, while its low liquor ratio and soft-flow handling aim to lower water, energy and chemical use and fabric stress.
The company also introduced SynthMaster, designed for fabrics that are hard to run on conventional machines. It can dye non-preheat-set woven polyester and Lycra blends containing cotton, rayon, nylon and modal in open-width form, Benninger said, lowering the risk of rope marks and edge curling. For polyester, the system moves material through the chamber without heavy compression or tension, which helps limit creasing.
The company, which cites a 160-year heritage, has said FabricMaster machines are already installed in Bangladesh, alongside Europe, the United States, Peru and Central America.
