Global medical textile revenues are on track to more than triple over the next several years, according to a new report from The Business Research Company, as hospitals and healthcare systems worldwide ramp up spending on infection control, surgical readiness and advanced wound care.
The medical textile market is expected to climb from $19.44 billion in 2025 to $24.75 billion in 2026, marking a compound annual growth rate of 27.4%, the report said. Looking further out, the market is forecast to reach $64.28 billion by 2030, expanding at a CAGR of 26.9% over the period, according to the firm’s latest projections.
The Business Research Company attributed recent growth to a rising incidence of hospital-acquired infections, expanding healthcare infrastructure, an increase in surgical procedures, and stronger demand for hygiene and protective textiles. Broader increases in global healthcare spending have also underpinned the sector’s expansion, the firm said, as providers seek to reduce infection-related complications and improve patient outcomes.

Looking ahead to 2030, the report pointed to a different set of catalysts driving the next leg of expansion. Heavier investment in advanced medical materials, rising demand for personalized healthcare products, and wider adoption of sustainable textile solutions are all expected to reshape the competitive landscape, according to the firm. Manufacturers are increasingly focused on biodegradable fibers and antimicrobial finishes as hospitals face mounting pressure to cut both infection rates and environmental impact.
Medical textiles span a wide range of products used across healthcare settings, including surgical drapes and gowns, wound care dressings, sterilization wraps and protective apparel, alongside emerging categories such as smart fabrics designed for continuous patient monitoring. Demand for these advanced categories has grown alongside broader digitization across healthcare supply chains.
The report forms part of The Business Research Company’s 2026 market research series, which includes market attractiveness scoring, total addressable market analysis, company scoring matrices, and Excel-based forecasting dashboards, along with infographics highlighting regional and segment-level hotspots across the industry.
The findings add to a broader wave of recent forecasts pointing to sustained expansion across adjacent categories, including biomedical textiles and medical clothing, as healthcare providers globally continue prioritizing infection prevention and patient safety in the years ahead. Analysts say the sector’s rapid growth trajectory reflects structural shifts in healthcare delivery rather than a temporary post-pandemic rebound, with hospitals in Asia-Pacific and North America emerging as key growth markets for both established manufacturers and newer entrants.
