RMG Club Ltd. officially inaugurated its new Corporate Office and organized a Strategic Partnership (MoU Signing Ceremony), bringing together leading figures from Bangladesh’s ready-made garments (RMG) industry, business community, and diplomatic corps.
The event was graced by H.E. Mr. Paulo Fernando Dias Feres, Ambassador of Brazil to Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished Guests of Honour included Mr. Abul Kalam, MP, Managing Director of Chaity Group, Mr. Mahmud Hasan Khan, President of BGMEA and Managing Director of Rising Group, and Mr. Faruque Hassan, Former President of BGMEA, Chairman of BUFT, and Managing Director of Giant Group. Industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and representatives from various organizations also attended the ceremony.

A major highlight of the event was the signing of a Strategic Partnership (MoU) between RMG Club Ltd. and the Bangladesh-Brazil Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BBCCI). The partnership aims to strengthen business cooperation, promote bilateral trade, facilitate investment, and create new opportunities for collaboration between Bangladesh and Brazil.

During the discussion session, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan and BTMA President Showkat Aziz Russell emphasized the significant potential of the Brazilian market for Bangladeshi apparel exports. They noted that high import duties remain one of the major barriers to expanding Bangladesh’s presence in Brazil.

The BGMEA President proposed exploring a bilateral mechanism under which garments manufactured in Bangladesh using Brazilian cotton could receive preferential tariff treatment or duty rebates in the Brazilian market.
Since Bangladesh is already one of the major importers of Brazilian cotton, such an initiative could create a win-win situation by increasing Brazilian cotton exports while enhancing the competitiveness of Bangladeshi apparel in Brazil.
Speakers expressed optimism that continued dialogue between the governments, industry associations, and private sectors of both countries would help unlock greater trade and investment opportunities in the years ahead.
The event concluded with a networking session where participants exchanged ideas on strengthening international partnerships and enhancing the global competitiveness of Bangladesh’s RMG sector.
