RMG Club and BTMA Eye Long-Term Cooperation to Support Sector Development

RMG Club Ltd. and the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) have initiated discussions on a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the competitiveness, sustainability, and long-term growth of Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry.

The meeting was held at the Amber Group Head Office in Dhaka and brought together RMG Club President Rezaul Alam Miru, BTMA President Showkat Aziz Russell, and senior representatives from both organizations.

During the discussions, the two industry bodies explored avenues for long-term collaboration focused on strengthening Bangladesh’s textile and apparel value chain. Key areas of cooperation included promoting technological innovation, improving productivity, advancing sustainable manufacturing practices, encouraging investment, and facilitating knowledge exchange across the sector.

Among the priority areas identified for future collaboration were strengthening ties between textile manufacturers and garment exporters, supporting research and leadership development, expanding international trade and investment networks, and fostering constructive policy dialogue to address industry challenges and opportunities.

Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to building a more resilient, competitive, and sustainable textile and apparel ecosystem capable of supporting Bangladesh’s continued growth as a leading global sourcing destination.

Speaking after the meeting, RMG Club President Rezaul Alam Miru highlighted the importance of stronger industry partnerships in accelerating innovation, sustainability, and global competitiveness throughout the textile and apparel value chain.

BTMA President Showkat Aziz Russell emphasized the need for closer cooperation among industry stakeholders to navigate emerging challenges, capitalize on new opportunities, and further strengthen Bangladesh’s position in the global textile and apparel market.

The meeting concluded with both organizations agreeing to maintain regular engagement and jointly pursue initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development and long-term success of Bangladesh’s largest export-oriented industry.
