VDMA India and the VDMA Textile Machinery Association will organise the India-Europe Textile Machinery & Technology Forum in Mumbai on December 2, bringing together Indian textile industry decision-makers and European technology providers to discuss manufacturing efficiency, sustainability and higher-value production.
The one-day conference and business-to-business (B2B) event will showcase technologies aimed at improving productivity, product quality and the international competitiveness of textile manufacturers. Key topics will include automation and digitalisation, artificial intelligence-supported quality control, technical textiles, nonwovens, energy-efficient production processes and advanced finishing technologies.
Experts from nine VDMA member companies — Barmag, BW Converting, Georg Sahm, Groz-Beckert, Lenze, Mahlo, Thies, Trützschler Nonwovens and Weitman + Konrad (Weko) — will present their solutions at the forum.
The event will also feature a presentation on Germany’s government-backed export credit guarantees (ECG), an instrument intended to support trade between India and Germany.
The forum will target textile and nonwoven manufacturers and exporters across the value chain, including spinning, winding, knitting, weaving, nonwovens, dyeing and finishing. The technologies discussed will have applications in apparel, home textiles and technical textiles.
The organisers are particularly targeting senior industry executives, including mill owners, chief executives, managing directors, technical directors and plant managers, as well as professionals responsible for automation, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, engineering, maintenance, production, sustainability, circularity, quality and energy management.
The event will also provide a platform for industry participants to discuss the practical application of European technology solutions in Indian textile manufacturing.
