The 13th International Yarn and Fabric Show opens Thursday at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka, drawing more than 150 overseas exhibitors as the country’s garment sector looks to widen its sourcing base for raw materials.
The four-day event, running August 13-16, is being staged concurrently with Bangladesh TEXCHEM, a companion show dedicated to textile chemicals. Together the two fairs give garment manufacturers, buying houses, fabric importers and processors a single venue to source yarn, fabrics, accessories and chemical inputs from international suppliers.
Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association President Mohammad Hatem will attend as chief guest at the inauguration.
The show is organised by ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, which has run nearly 200 trade fairs across industry verticals in Bangladesh since staging its first event in 2002.

Company Managing Director Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan said fabric sourcing is a fast-moving activity and that access to new suppliers and innovations remains essential for exporters, noting this edition includes a dedicated pavilion from India’s CHEMEXCIL.
Bangladesh’s readymade garment industry, which counts more than 4,000 exporting factories producing shirts, trousers, T-shirts, denim, jackets and sweaters, remains one of the world’s largest apparel sourcing hubs.
Exhibitors will showcase a wide product range spanning coloured spun yarn and blended yarns for woven and knitted garments, knitted and woven fashion fabrics, plush and TR suiting fabrics, wool suiting fabrics, printed fashion fabrics, functional sports fabrics, and home and toy fabrics. The show will also feature post-processing services including hot stamping, embroidery, composites, film lamination and flocking, alongside a broad range of garment accessories such as zippers in multiple materials.
On the chemicals side, Bangladesh TEXCHEM exhibitors will present dyes and dyestuffs, fine and specialty chemicals, processing and cleaning chemicals, corrosion inhibitors, and laboratory and chemical-processing equipment.
The fair is open to business visitors from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through August 16.
