Arvind Limited has appointed Rajarshi Ghosh as Chief Executive Officer of its denim business, reinforcing the company’s leadership bench as it sharpens its focus on profitable growth, deeper customer engagement and operational excellence in one of its core segments.
The appointment comes at a time when Arvind’s denim business has shown visible improvement in recent quarters, supported by stabilizing demand, better capacity utilization and a renewed emphasis on value-added offerings.
Announcing the leadership change, Vice Chairman Punit Lalbhai said Ghosh’s elevation closely aligns with the company’s medium- to long-term priorities for the denim segment, particularly in strengthening customer partnerships, accelerating enterprise-wide digitization and building a high-performance culture anchored in accountability and measurable outcomes.
Industry observers note that denim remains a strategically important category for Arvind, not only due to its scale but also because of evolving global demand for sustainable, flexible and digitally integrated supply chains.
Ghosh’s appointment signals a clear intent to move beyond volume-led growth toward margin expansion, differentiated products and closer collaboration with global apparel brands. In his remarks, Ghosh described his return to Arvind as a significant milestone, having begun his professional journey at the company as a management trainee
His focus would be on building on Arvind’s strong foundation, working closely with teams and customers to drive sustainable growth, elevate execution standards and leverage scaled digital capabilities across manufacturing, planning and customer engagement, Ghosh said.
With nearly three decades of leadership experience in the textile industry, Ghosh brings deep expertise in business transformation, operational excellence and innovation across large, complex manufacturing operations.
His career spans quality management, process improvement and end-to-end operations, giving him a strong grounding in both execution and strategic leadership.

Prior to rejoining Arvind, Ghosh served as Chief Operating Officer at Jindal Worldwide Ltd., where he oversaw operations and supply chains across denim, shirting and bottom-weight fabrics. His role involved managing multi-product portfolios, improving operational efficiencies and strengthening supply chain responsiveness.
Earlier, at Welspun Group, he held several senior leadership positions, including President and Business Head at Welspun Living and Senior Vice President at Welspun Flooring, where he led business performance initiatives, greenfield expansions, productivity enhancements and transformation programs.
Analysts see Ghosh’s background in large-scale manufacturing, digitisation and performance improvement as particularly relevant as denim producers face rising input costs, tighter compliance requirements and increasing customer expectations around speed, transparency and sustainability.
His experience across multiple textile segments is expected to support Arvind’s efforts to enhance customer experience while maintaining cost discipline and operational agility.
Arvind Limited is a diversified textile-to-retail conglomerate with operations spanning textiles, apparel, advanced materials, environmental solutions, telecommunications and omnichannel commerce. As an integrated textile solutions provider with fibre-to-fashion capabilities, the company serves a global customer base and ranks among the world’s leading fabric suppliers.
The leadership transition in its denim business underscores Arvind’s broader strategy to strengthen core segments through experienced leadership, digital transformation and a sustained focus on value creation.
