Jeans Plus Ltd., a Dhaka-based woven garment manufacturer under Shin Shin Group, has been awarded LEED Platinum certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the highest tier of the green building rating system, the company said this month.
The certification was granted under LEED v4.1 in the Operations and Maintenance: Existing Buildings category, dated July 2026 and signed by USGBC President and CEO Peter Templeton. Jeans Plus previously held LEED Gold certification, awarded in 2022, making the upgrade to Platinum a notable step up in the facility’s sustainability performance.
“Excellence Never Stops,” Shin Shin Group said in a statement announcing the milestone, adding that the achievement brings the group’s tally of certified green factories to two, alongside sister concern Vancot Limited, which secured LEED Gold from USGBC earlier this year.

Shin Shin Group is one of Bangladesh’s largest apparel-exporting conglomerates, comprising six factories: Shin Shin Apparels Ltd, Jeans Plus Ltd, Khalifa Apparels Ltd, Organic Jeans Ltd, Vancot Limited and others. Jeans Plus operates four production floors of 78,000 square feet each on a 1,981-square-meter site, running more than 4,000 modern machines with a combined production capacity exceeding 1.77 million pieces per month.
The LEED Platinum award adds to a growing list of Bangladeshi garment factories pursuing the USGBC’s top green building tier, as the country’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector continues to position environmental credentials as a differentiator for international buyers. Bangladesh has built one of the world’s largest concentrations of LEED-certified garment factories over the past decade, spanning both new construction and existing-building retrofits.
USGBC’s LEED framework evaluates facilities across categories including energy and water efficiency, materials selection, indoor environmental quality and site sustainability, with Platinum representing the highest of four certification levels above Certified, Silver and Gold.
Neither Jeans Plus nor Shin Shin Group disclosed specific efficiency metrics or capital investment tied to the upgraded certification.
