U.S. upland cotton sales hit 109,300 running bales (RB) in the week ending July 31, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said. The new marketing year began on August 1. Vietnam bought 53,400 RB, Peru 20,300 RB, Mexico 7,800 RB, Pakistan 7,400 RB and Bangladesh 7,100 RB. Honduras, Nicaragua, Thailand and China cut their purchases.
Exporters shipped 182,300 RB of upland cotton during the week, raising total exports for the 2024–25 season to 11,191,200 RB, up 1% from last year’s 11,070,400 RB. Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Türkiye and Mexico received the largest volumes.
Pima cotton sales for 2025–26 reached 5,300 RB, with China, India, Egypt, Türkiye and Vietnam as the top buyers. Exporters moved 9,000 RB of Pima cotton during the week, pushing total shipments to 435,000 RB—35% higher than last year’s 321,800 RB. India, Vietnam, China, Egypt and Pakistan led in Pima purchases.
