JITAC 2026 is showcasing materials for the autumn-winter 2027/28 season, according to the event organiser. Its timing places the fair at an important stage in the sourcing calendar as brands and manufacturers assess materials and suppliers for future collections.

The event brings together companies from different segments of the textile supply chain, including fabric and yarn producers and suppliers of apparel-related accessories. Buyers, wholesalers, manufacturers and other industry professionals are among the expected participants.

For European textile companies, Japan offers access to a mature fashion market with established demand for differentiated fabrics, specialty materials and higher-value textile products. For Japanese buyers, international fairs such as JITAC provide an opportunity to assess new suppliers and material developments in one location.

The Tokyo event also comes as apparel companies globally continue to diversify sourcing networks and seek materials that can support changing consumer preferences, product development and sustainability requirements.

JITAC’s focus on European materials gives the fair a distinct position within Japan’s textile trade calendar, connecting European suppliers with one of Asia’s major fashion and apparel markets.

With textile sourcing becoming increasingly international, the 53rd edition is expected to serve as a business platform for developing supplier relationships and identifying materials for upcoming apparel collections.
