Portuguese textile manufacturer Trimalhas has introduced OUTLIER, its Autumn/Winter 2027/28 knitwear collection, placing sustainability, premium natural fibres and long-lasting design at the centre of its latest textile development.
The collection reflects the company’s approach to creating products that remain relevant beyond seasonal fashion trends, responding to growing industry interest in responsible materials, product durability and purposeful innovation.
OUTLIER combines organic cotton, wool, Pima cotton, Umorfil®, linen, silk and selected technical fibres to develop knitted fabrics balancing comfort, durability, functionality and refined aesthetics. The material combinations are designed to provide versatility across different product categories while maintaining premium quality.
Among the collection’s highlighted developments are an elastane transfer rib made from 99% organic cotton, a double-face interlock in 100% organic cotton, a transfer jersey combining 50% Umorfil® and 50% lyocell, and a plain jersey featuring an equal blend of wool and Pima cotton.

The collection follows two complementary design directions. The first focuses on understated luxury, incorporating minimalist structures, refined textures and sensory comfort. The second explores more expressive knitwear through textured constructions, bouclé effects, lace structures and distinctive surface treatments.
Trimalhas said the development process begins with research, travel, cultural references and observations of changing consumer lifestyles. These insights are translated into textile products through technical expertise, experimentation and collaboration across production stages.
The company positions OUTLIER as part of its broader commitment to responsible production and quality that extends beyond short-lived fashion cycles. Its emphasis on combining natural fibres with selected technical materials also highlights the potential of fibre innovation in developing contemporary knitwear.
The collection was presented in the context of Première Vision Paris, held from September 1 to 3, 2026, providing an international platform for textile manufacturers, designers and fashion professionals.
With OUTLIER, Trimalhas is seeking to demonstrate how material innovation, creative construction and durability can contribute to the next generation of premium knitwear.
