HOLD Hosts Bangladesh’s First Dedicated AI Summit in Dhaka

The landmark event brought together HR professionals, business leaders, technology experts, policymakers and academicians for an afternoon of dialogue on how artificial intelligence is reshaping careers, businesses and Bangladesh’s future competitiveness.

The summit opened with a welcome address by Mr. Muhammad Nur E Alam, Founder of HOLD, a human resources professional and social worker who has long championed learning-driven development for underserved communities in Bangladesh. In his address, Mr. Alam highlighted HOLD’s belief that artificial intelligence, when adopted responsibly and inclusively, can become a powerful catalyst for national progress—creating new opportunities for both organisations and individuals.

The programme featured a series of sessions exploring AI’s growing influence across critical domains, including: AI for HR Professionals — presented by Mr. Imteaz Mustafa, Head of OD & Talent Management, Fakir Fashion Ltd.

AI Leadership: From Awareness to Action — presented by Mr. Sadiq M Alam, Odoo ERP Functional Consultant and Enterprise AI Expert, and Mr. Md. Mahmudul Hassan, CEO and AI Transformation Consultant, AI4BT Global AI Cyber Security Solutions — presented by Mr. Md. Mahabubur Rahman Bhuiyan, BPM (Bar), DIG (PRL), Advisor for Security, Crisis Management & International Affairs
Panel Discussion: “Bangladesh’s AI Leaders Discuss What’s Next — for Careers, Businesses, and the Country’s Competitive Edge” — featuring Professor Dr. Mohammed Shadrul Alam,Former Additional Director General (Admin) Directorate General of Medical Education, Group Captain Md. Abul Hossain, PSC (Retd),AI business-transformation Advocate, Educator & Senior strategic leader, Mr. A.S.M. Mahbubul Alam,Former Secretary Government of Banglades, Mr. M. Rafiqul Islam,Renewable Energy Expert, and Mr. Md. Faisal Hossain,Group CTO BD Finance PLC, moderated by Mr. Muhammad Redwanul Haq , Senior GM, Robi.

The panel explored the potential of AI over the next 5–10 years, including its implications for public services, business productivity, workforce transformation, healthcare, energy, financial services, cybersecurity and national competitiveness. The discussion also highlighted the importance of responsible adoption, human capability, governance and building the right ecosystem to translate AI potential into measurable outcomes.

The summit concluded with a networking dinner, providing participants with an opportunity to continue the conversation, exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations towards building a more AI-ready Bangladesh.
